We are happy to announce the release of an update to Flight Simulator Scenery
Creator: Version 1.5.3 on November 15th, 2002.
Flight Simulator Scenery Creator is a simple, yet powerful,
graphical editor that enables you to add additional scenery of your own design
to Microsoft® Flight Simulator using a point-and-click interface. Some of the new features in version
1.5 include:
- Open GL enabled drawing for realistic texture rendering.
- New objects, including the Taxiway Line, Tower, Surface Area, Exclusion,
and SCASM code.
- New dialog boxes for an better user experience.
- Special multiple object properties, now select multiple buildings and be
able to change all of the properties of the buildings, not just the generic
position attributes.
- Automatic snap points to line - have seamless edges between polygons and
taxiway lines.
- Text fields support multiple units of measure.
- Create rows of Buildings or Macros using the Line Object.
- Export Scenery Wizard gets your scenery into Microsoft Flight Simulator
quickly and with no fuss.
- Tip of the Day provides helpful hints for designing scenery.
- Rotate your perspective, but not your scenery. North does not always have
to point up anymore!
The update fixes the following issues:
-
The Tower location should be written out to SCASM in terms of Mean Sea Level.
-
Editing the Tower object should update the AFD refresh flag.
-
RunwayLoc command decimal point problem (Western European versions).
-
Inefficiencies in loading SCN files.
In addition, the following features have been added:
-
Ability to have invisible sections of taxiway hold-short lines.
-
Disable Synthetic scenery for versions FS2000 and higher. While the
"Transparent" texture can technically be used, it is used only rarely and the
ability to select it has caused much confusion. Therefore, it has been disabled
for future versions.
FS Scenery Creator 1.5.3 will be made available through AVSIM's file library
both as an upgrade and a full installation package, and can
be accessed through the official FS Scenery Creator webpage,
http://www.fssc.avsim.net/.
